SEGMENTATION

When a physician examines the content of radiographic imagery, many times they require delineation of anatomy, objects or pathology. Traditionally, this was completed with manual segmentation, which is labourious, time consuming and subject to intra and inter-operator bias. Automated segmentation schemes can offer quantitative and objective analysis of the images to identify and detect specific image objects and structures, which overcome all or many of the above challenges.
